What does each PostEx tracking status mean?
PostEx uses specific status codes at every scan point — from the seller's warehouse, through transit hubs, to the rider on your street. Here's the complete plain-language guide to PostEx tracking statuses in Pakistan: what each one means, and exactly what action you should take.
Common queries this answers: PostEx pending, PostEx in transit meaning, PostEx out for delivery, PostEx consignee not available, PostEx return initiated, PostEx exception status, PostEx cancelled.

What is PostEx and why do you need a tracking tool?
PostEx is one of Pakistan's fastest-growing e-commerce logistics companies. Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Lahore, PostEx specialises in cash-on-delivery (COD) logistics for online sellers — the small Instagram and Facebook shops, Daraz stores, Shopify stores and home-grown D2C brands that power Pakistan's online economy. The company operates in 650+ cities across Pakistan and processes millions of parcels every month, with a Forbes Asia "100 to Watch" recognition under its belt.
For sellers, PostEx is a full-stack logistics platform: same-day delivery, intercity shipping, instant upfront COD payments and a merchant dashboard at merchant.postex.pk. For buyers, PostEx is the rider who shows up at your door with the parcel you ordered online — and a tracking number that you want to check every few hours.
postextracking.pk is the buyer's tool. We sit on top of the public PostEx tracking endpoint, strip away the clutter, and show you exactly what you need: where your parcel is right now, what each status code actually means, and what to do if something looks wrong. No account. No app. No upsells. Just paste your PostEx tracking number and go.
PostEx tracking number format — what it looks like and where to find it
A modern PostEx tracking number is 14 digits long, numeric only, with no spaces or dashes. Examples look like 28573680002427 or 26573680002541. Older legacy numbers carry a CX- prefix followed by 8–14 digits (e.g. CX-12345678); both formats work on this site.
You'll usually find your PostEx tracking number in one of these places:
- The dispatch SMS from the seller, sent to the phone number you used to place the order.
- The order confirmation email, often labelled "Tracking number" or "AWB number".
- Your seller's WhatsApp message — most Pakistani Instagram/Facebook shops share it directly.
- The seller's order page, if they use Shopify, WooCommerce or Daraz.
If none of these have it, message the seller. They always have it on their PostEx merchant dashboard. Without the tracking number there is no way — anywhere — to track the parcel.
How long does PostEx take to deliver in Pakistan?
PostEx delivery time depends on three things: the route (same city vs intercity), the service tier the seller selected, and whether public holidays or peak sale periods are in play. The table below summarises typical timeframes for popular routes. These are indicative — actual delivery may be faster or slower depending on rider availability and parcel volume.
| Route | Standard | Same-Day | Holiday/Peak |
|---|---|---|---|
| Same city (Karachi → Karachi) | 24–48 hrs | Same day | +1 day |
| Same city (Lahore → Lahore) | 24–48 hrs | Same day | +1 day |
| Lahore ⇄ Karachi | 2–4 days | Not available | +1–2 days |
| Lahore ⇄ Islamabad / Rawalpindi | 1–3 days | Same day* | +1 day |
| Karachi ⇄ Islamabad | 2–5 days | Not available | +1–2 days |
| Faisalabad ⇄ Lahore | 1–3 days | Same day* | +1 day |
| Multan ⇄ Lahore | 1–3 days | — | +1 day |
| Peshawar ⇄ Islamabad | 1–3 days | — | +1 day |
| Quetta ⇄ Karachi | 3–6 days | — | +2 days |
| Smaller cities (Bannu, Skardu, etc.) | 3–7 days | — | +2–3 days |
*PostEx Same-Day Delivery is offered in select major cities on selected routes; availability depends on the seller's plan and order cut-off time.
PostEx tracking not updating? Here's what to do
One of the most-searched PostEx queries in Pakistan is "PostEx tracking not updating" or "PostEx parcel stuck in transit". Most of the time, the parcel is fine — tracking just hasn't been scanned yet. Here is the right way to handle it.
- 1Wait one full working day first
PostEx scans parcels at hub points, not continuously. A scan can be up to 12–24 hours apart for an intercity shipment. A static status for a few hours is normal.
- 2Re-check the tracking number
The most common cause of 'no result' is a typo. PostEx tracking numbers are 14 digits — paste, don't retype, and remove any leading or trailing spaces.
- 3Confirm dispatch with the seller
Sometimes the seller generates a tracking number but doesn't actually drop the parcel for two or three days. The tracker only starts moving once PostEx physically picks up the parcel.
- 4Check for 'Delivery Attempted'
If you see this status, the rider tried to deliver but couldn't. Stay near your phone — the rider often calls a second time the same day, and at the latest the next working day.
- 5Holiday awareness
During Eid, public holidays and peak sales (Black Friday, 11.11) tracking can be silent for 2–3 days as parcels queue at hubs. Wait it out — a sudden cluster of scans usually follows.
- 6Escalate via the seller
If there's no movement for 3+ working days, ask the seller to raise a ticket on their PostEx merchant dashboard. As a buyer, you don't have direct PostEx support access — the seller does, and they get faster resolutions.
What does PostEx actually do?
PostEx is more than a courier. It's a logistics-plus-fintech platform built for Pakistan's e-commerce sellers. Understanding what each service is helps explain the tracking statuses you see.
The flagship service. Buyers pay the rider in cash on arrival. Sellers get the money credited via PostEx, often the same day, instead of waiting weeks.
Available in major metro areas (Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad-Rawalpindi). Orders placed before the seller's cut-off are delivered the same day.
Standard nationwide logistics across 650+ cities and towns — the backbone of every Pakistani online seller.
PostEx pays the seller upfront (before COD is collected) so cash flow doesn't choke. Differentiates PostEx from older couriers.
A digital payment gateway for online checkout, integrated with the same PostEx merchant account.
Hosted at merchant.postex.pk — sellers manage shipments, COD reconciliation, returns and finance from one place.
Official PostEx mobile apps
PostEx publishes three official mobile apps for the three sides of its ecosystem — sellers, riders and finance. These are the official apps from PostEx (Pvt) Ltd; postextracking.pk does not publish an app of its own.
Create orders, generate load sheets, monitor pickups and check delivery / COD reconciliation in real time. The app sellers use most.
Used internally by PostEx delivery riders to scan, route, and confirm parcel handovers. Not for end-buyer use.
Receive PostEx payouts, manage your e-commerce wallet, and reconcile COD revenue with PostEx's fintech tools.
App listings are operated by PostEx (Pvt) Ltd. We link them here as a convenience for buyers and sellers — we do not publish or maintain these apps.

PostEx tracking tips — for buyers and sellers
If you ordered something online
- • Save the SMS or email with your tracking number — you'll need it more than once.
- • Bookmark this page on your phone home screen for one-tap re-tracking.
- • Pay attention to Out for Delivery — that's when the rider may call.
- • Keep your phone reachable. Most failed deliveries happen because the consignee didn't pick up.
- • If a status worries you, contact the seller first, not PostEx — sellers have direct support access.
- • For COD orders, keep exact change ready. Riders often don't carry change for large notes.
If you're shipping with PostEx
- • Send the tracking number to the buyer the moment dispatch is confirmed — reduces "where is my order" tickets by 70%+.
- • Link buyers to postextracking.pk/track/<number> instead of pasting the raw tracker.
- • Watch for Delivery Attempted — that's your cue to call the buyer and confirm address.
- • Reconcile COD payouts daily on merchant.postex.pk.
- • During peak sales, batch-print AWBs and drop them at a PostEx hub instead of waiting for pickup.
- • If a parcel is Returned, contact the buyer before re-shipping — the issue is usually phone or address.
